Artemis is the what the Greeks called her. In other religions, though, she was known by different names. For instance, to the Romans she was known as Diana or Diane.

  Artemis is considered the goddess of the moon. Along with that she is the goddess of childbirth, the hunt, animals, and the wilderness.

Artemis was well-known for her hunting and of her protecting the gentle animals that are normally hunted. Artemis is one of the most independent out of all the goddesses. She is also confident, courageous, and strong.

Although she is a goddess, Artemis is not all perfect. She is known to be vengeful, impulsive, and aloof.

Artemis is the daughter of Zeus and Leto and the sister of Apollo. Artemis was the first to be born and helped her mother to give birth to her brother Apollo.
